"A Pillar and buttress of the truth"
1 Timothy 3:15
How We Worship
We’re a church of about 30 families that differ in age and size from young families with small children to more mature saints with lots of wisdom to offer. Our music is a reverent blend, which means we cherish long-standing hymns and we also appreciate the richest songs being written today. Much of our worship time is spent listening to an exposition of the Bible that takes the point of the passage
and makes that the point of the sermon.
...so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers
and authorities in the
heavenly places. - Eph 3:10
The Governor’s office has announced that the whole state of Illinois is on track to enter Phase 4 of the reopening plan this Friday, June 26th. This would mean that gatherings of 50 or fewer are not only reluctantly permitted but positively endorsed by state guidance. In view of this trajectory, we plan, Lord willing, to re-convene for public worship this coming Sunday.
What We Believe
To say we believe what the Bible says, yet not to explain in our own words what we understand the Bible to mean, is unhelpful. Therefore, to crystallize and clarify our beliefs about what Scripture actually teaches, we have created a trio of positioning documents that structure our approach to biblical worship.
